Blogging STUFF

I don’t have that many resources I use to maintain my blog.

I use Bluehost for hosting (not totally sure about recommending, I’ve heard SiteGround is good), GoDaddy for my domain name and…that’s pretty much it.

There are a few tools I recommend though:

Social Warfare

Social Warfare is a WordPress plugin that creates attractive social sharing buttons to use on your blog or website.  It may seem trivial, but when I saw these on other blogger’s sites, I thought they made the blog look more professional and had to have them.

Here’s an example from my site:

So pretty lol.

They also make it easier for people to share your content because the buttons are large and easy to see.

I recommend using Social Warfare for your sharing buttons.

BE funky

I use Be Funky for pretty much every visual I have on my site.  I use it to edit photos, make pins, collages for posts, blog post title cards, etc.  It’s a great free tool and an apparent good substitute for Canva, which I actually didn’t like that much.  I use Be Funky frequently and highly recommend it.

MONEY STUFF

PERSONAL CAPITAL

This seems to be the holy grail of personal finance applications, and it’s easy to see why; it hosts a wide range of typical features such as budgeting, tracking savings and investments, etc.  But it trounces every other personal finance app out there by including some outstanding features such as investment checkups, a retirement planner and forecaster – you can even get personal advice from a top financial adviser for a small fee (currently under 1%).

I use it to check my accounts and my net worth every single day.

Coinbase

Coinbase is one of the leading U.S. sites for buying cryptocurrency.  I’ve used it for a majority of my cryptocurrency purchases.

Here, you can buy bitcoin, ethereum, litecoin and bitcoin cash, using either a bank account or a credit/debit card.

If you purchase $100 worth of cryptocurrency, we’ll both get a free $10.00.  Click here or use the link below to join!

Robinhood

Robinhood is a mobile based app that allows one to purchase stocks, bonds, and some ETFs completely commission free.

It’s such an unheard of practice that I often forget the service is there.  I’m not an individual-stock buyer, but I’ve used Robinhood before and I like it.  It’s intuitive, the interface is cool and most importanly, it’s FREE.

Join using the link below and we’ll both get one free stock! Click here or use the link below to join!

Acorns

Acorns is an app that helps you save and invest money, usually by rounding up your credit/debit card purchases to the nearest dollar, and depositing the difference into an account in which you can invest in different one of the six different ETFs they offer.

Sign up with Acorns using the link below and we’ll both get an extra $5!

FUN STUFF

frinkiac

Frinkiac is a Simpsons lover’s paradise.

Frinkiac allows one to take any moment from the show, caption it, and create into a GIF or meme.

I use it whenever I need a Simpsons reference (which comes up surprisingly often).

Gamefaqs.com

This place has every guide, cheat code or videogame hack imaginable, all in one place, for every game that has ever existed.  To say it’s exhaustive is underwhelming.  I’ve been visiting this place for over a decade for the game guides and codes it provides.  The forums can be fun, but are pretty toxic, with stupid political rants being posted all the time, and many trolls lurk there.  You can still get access to some great news on the forums, sometimes before other places, but I don’t recommend spending a substantial amount of time here in one sitting.

I’ll be adding new people, places and things (otherwise known as ‘nouns’) that I like to this page periodically as I see fit.

Email me if you have a cool resource you think I might like!
